Slammer Partners with Power Baseball
Academy
We are proud to announce that
The Slammer has
entered into a partnership agreement with the Power Baseball Academy to provide
professional baseball training. This partnership now provides us with the
opportunity to become a complete baseball training facility by offering
professional camps and clinics as well as individual lessons. We have been
discussing adding these services since opening The Slammer in 2005 and now this
partnership has made it possible.
Power Baseball Academy is owned and operated by Duaine Claywell, who has over
thirty-four years of coaching and teaching baseball skills to youth ranging from
Little League-aged to high school and college level players. “Power Baseball
provides various levels of instruction to all ages. Power Baseball trains
players according to their ability by developing a program to fit that
individual. After their free evaluation, they will receive a level of
instruction appropriate to their maturity and the level of their playing
skills.” While position technique instruction is available for hitting and
infield/outfield positions, Power Baseball specializes in teaching and
developing pitchers and catchers.
Power Baseball not only teaches the skill part of the game, but they work with
the player to enhance their mental attitude and their knowledge of the fine
points of the game. The program includes instruction to the player and their
parents regarding proper arm care, nutrition, and the importance of strength and
conditioning. Unique to Power Baseball is Their player mentoring system. Select
local high school players become mentoring partners with their students. This
“buddy system” provides the younger players with both inspiration and enthusiasm
to work hard to be the best they can be. Power Baseball also provides their
Elite Training Program for pitchers and catchers. This program is for the
serious player who has a unique combination of ability, baseball aptitude,
attitude, work ethic/dedication, commitment, goals, and parents who are
supportive and not intrusive.
